
Barry Callebaut partnered with IXEN Interactive to create an immersive, multi-sensory experience that brings the story of chocolate to life.
Designed as an interactive installation, the experience takes visitors on a journey from cocoa origin to finished chocolate, combining education, storytelling, and digital engagement. Through a series of interactive stations, users explore the transformation of cocoa while discovering the craftsmanship behind every chocolate creation.
The Experience
The experience is structured into a experiential journey across four key stations:
- Gift of the Tropics
Discover the origins of cocoa, including different varieties and growing regions. - Awakening the Cocoa
Learn how raw cocoa beans are processed and prepared, shaping the foundation of flavour. - The Craft of Chocolate
Explore how heat transforms flavour precursors into the rich aromas of chocolate. - Moments of Indulgence
Understand how technique, expertise, and creativity come together to create the final product.
To further enhance the immersive experience, a chocolate fragrance dispenser was integrated into the installation, allowing visitors to engage not only visually and interactively, but also through scent. This multi-sensory layer strengthens emotional connection and reinforces brand recall.
Each station is designed to balance clarity and depth, creating an interactive and experiential environment where visitors can engage at their own pace.
